Rex's And The Girls

Stephen decided after a hard day at the costume shop everyone deserved a night on the town.  He thought  the girls would be safe at Rex's a local dive bar. Ling Ling still full of pep wanted to go along with the group.  I make 12 ballgowns today and I want to live the night life.  Stephen patted her head and said , "you are my hardest worker but you are only 12 . No living the night life for you .  "  Bette had already dressed in her brown off the shoulder number.  Fasten your seatbelts its going to be a bumpy night.  Judy was all excited . She heard there was something called karaoke and she was all ready to sing all night .  She told Stephen she never wanted to go home.  She would sing them all and stay the entire night.  Stephen sighed .  He knew Judy had found some uppers somewhere and they were in for an all nighter. Joan was still working on her "face"  she said her people expected her to look like a star not the girl next door.   Stephen and Joan both said in unison If you want the girl next door, go next door. Marilyn came out looking every inch the movie star. She was wearing the dress she wanted from the vintage shop.  Norma opted to stay home as she could not face her fans. So with Marylin , Judy, Bette and Joan in tow they arrived at Rex's. Upon entering Bette muttered what a dump ! Joan went straight to the ladies room with a can of Comet she had in her purse. She only stopped long enough for the bartender to pour her gin slinger . Judy went to the karaoke operator and put in several request.  Marilyn whispered in Stephen's ear , I am going to be Marilyn tonight . We will drink free she cooed.  In no time she had every man in the bar vying for her attention. Bette while normally in contempt of Marilyn's charms was glad for the free drinks.  Judy was singing, Joan was cleaning, Bette was slinging them back, and Marilyn for once seemed to enjoying all the attention.  A man approached Stephen and said Gladys Hearn left you message . Meet me tomorrow at the carnival . Stephen felt dizzy as the crazy sound of the carousel filled his ears. Stephen collapsed on the barroom floor just as he heard Marilyn  scream he is here!  The man that killed me ! Was Marilyn telling the truth ?  Did Judy sing the Man That Got Away or the she find him in the restroom?  Did Joan find cleanliness is next to a gin slinger? Did Bette fasten her seatbelt ?
